Diagnosed with Sleep Apnoea (Apnea)

I got the results of my test and they were not what I expected. It appears I have been diagnosed with sleep apnoea or for US speaking countries apnea, as I smell to have stopped breathing, but luckily as you may have guessed I started again~~hooray!

The downside is I have to undergo another night of
uncomfortable tests using a machine called a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and let me tell you that’s a mouthful. I tried one  for about 5 ~ 10 minutes and when they put the straps and the mask on I felt like Hannibal Lecture in Silence of the Lambs.

Here is an image from the internet so you can get a feel for what I am trying to
describe.

The doctor also prescribed melatonin to try and help my sleep pattern, I hope it’s working, but I will have to wait for the next sleep test to find out!

For those of you who may be interested in more information I have posted a link to the sleep foundation,  who have information on sleep apnoea/apnea and lots of other sleep related topics. https://sleepfoundation.org/sleep-disorders-problems/sleep-apnea
